So, after 3 years of wishing, dreaming, praying, playing, etc., the outside of our house is Newly stuccoed, roofed and decked. The inside, of course, is another story, but for now we are reveling in the exterior victory. We've taken some time off because after 6 heavy duty months of working every Saturday and screaming at the kids to work harder and dreading the weekend, I told Robert that as soon as the construction was finished on March 15th, he had to take at least two months off. It's now been almost two months since our personal hard-core portion was finished. And we're starting to feel the bug again to get certain jobs finished. Also, too, having this monumental project (exterior, including massive engineering and framing) finished, has given us a desire to JUST GET IT DONE!!!! if you know what I mean.
Just a note: You'll note, I'm sure that the existing brick does not really look so hot with the color we picked. Clashes, you might even say. Please know that we get this. We knew it wouldn't look nice, but didn't want to match the brick we're not terribly fond of. The plan was to put cultured stone over the brick. We got a bid the other day, however, that was twice the cost of our stucco. NEedless to say, we are currently researching paints and stains that will complement our new stucco. At least for a little while.

I think it looks great, Gail! Thanks for sharing! Loves!
The house looks great! And I love the header on your blog. I need to figure out how to do that to mine. One more thing to work on. You've inspired me. Sarah
Congratulations! I'm sure you're so relieved that it is done. The good news? No one can tell that the inside isn't finished yet!
