I have to stay up til 12 so I can pick up Maggie from her party (sleepover, but we only do late-nights). I have nothing pressing. Well, I could clean the kitchen or fold some socks. . . or blog. I am thinking a lot about the woman's traditional role and traditional skills. The women of the home used to be very busy growing, preparing and cleaning all the food, medicine, etc. for the home. We've made a woman's job so easy with all the modern conveniences and we fill it with MANY other things. We forget that we are healers and educators.
I like herbal medicine. I think it has its place in healing. I think that home remedies and other alternative therapies can work in conjunction with modern medicine to achieve miraculous results. I don't believe that either side has the "best" way.

I love Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman because it shows how, even when you are a medical doctor, you may be able to learn much from plants, roots, herbs, ancient remedies, etc. I just bought the entire series. I am so excited to start watching it with my kids. I hope they love this clean, wholesome entertainment as much as I do. Next up: Christy, the entire series, Little House (I already have seasons 1-3); and Star Trek the Next Generation. OOOOPS. Digressing.
ANyway, I would love to feel energetic enough to start and maintain gardens-- vegetable, Cooking herbs and medicinal herbs. Right now I'm just not there, but I have high hopes.
