Snap Happy

I spent the weekend at a photography workshop and am now able to understand Fstops, light meters, etc.  I can totally use my camera on MANUAL.  Thank you.  You may cease applause in a moment.  However, I took a lot of really cool pix of Strangers (models).  You'll have to wait for me to get some artistic family ones.

CHECK OUT THIS TIRADE

A Woman after my own heart on a subject I dearly love: If I could just copy and paste I would, but that seems like plagiarism.

In Between Screams

QUICK UPDATE:
For spring break we went to SLC/PROVO spent the week with my incredible SIL and nieces and Nephews and had a great time reliving my time at BYU.  Although, FYI, walking across campus with 6 kids is quite a bit different from the experience I had way back when.  I had no idea how quiet that place is.  We were a pretty amusing circus act, I'm sure.
Since we had no Robert with us we have no pictures cause I was wrangling children instead of a camera.  We also went Bowling, ate at the cougareat, wandered around the bookstore, saw the Bloch exhibit at the art museum, saw my nephew's play in the Nelke Theater, visited Hobby Lobby, University Mall, Sperry's, Russ and Raimee, Jackie and her family, and went to a UVU Baseball game.  Doesn't sound like much, but it was a very full week.  Because I'm 40 dang-it and I can take six kids on vacation alone. (Capable? Yes. Crazy? Also yes.)
Dad was sad, though, and very happy to have us home.  He is currently suffering from a scratched cornea and is not allowed to wear his contacts-- He asked me to cook the bacon this morning because he couldn't see if it was done or not and he didn't think putting his face in a frying pan full of grease was such a great idea.  I concurred and completed the bacon cookage.  Additionally, he will be having cataract surgery probably before summer's out. (by-product of his torn retina 4 years ago)
TASKS AND EVENTS CURRENTLY OCCUPYING MY MIND LATE AT NIGHT:
* Kill 1/2 acre of weeds
*Boot Camp-- 5:30 x 2 each week + exercise 4x each week+ Running-- training for my second Marathon so I can say I RUN MARATHONS instead of I RAN A MARATHON

Cute, but loud!

*Diligently watching each bite that goes in my mouth. BlahHHHH!!!!!!!!!
*Taxes:  JOY!!!!!!(note the sarcasm)
*Install sprinkler system on back 40
*Plant Grass
*Plan and Initiate Pool construction
*Going to hear Greg Mortensen Speak!
*Teacher Appreciation week at Matt's School
*Teach my child to speak instead of scream.
*Attending a photography workshop this weekend
*Relief Society Stuff
*Disneyland in June-- Kate and Maggie dancing there

Feels better just getting it out.

Happy Birthday To Me!!!!!!

After 3 years of me resisting, my mom insisted that she wanted to buy me this:

for my 40th Birthday. Thanks Mom! We LOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!!!
p.s. For those who might think I'm spoiled-- as much as I love it I would have gladly had a sibling instead. Just Saying.

NOTE TO SELF

Throwing yourself a party is like. . .
Ummmmm, no appropriate metaphor is forthcoming-- just a few choice words for the realization that when you throw YOURSELF a party the work is done by . . . DaTaDaDa YOURSELF.
Next year I'm not getting older.

You're Invited

It has arrived.  The day I have been looking forward to for many many years-- the day I celebrate having survived on this earth for 40 YEARS.!!!!.  Oh, did I exclamation that?  I've been told it's rude in today's world of technospeak, but today I am just using it for emphasis, excitement, exaggeration, celebration. (I love Exclamation points. Next to the question mark they are my favorite punctuation mark.)  To celebrate such an auspicious occasion, my friend and I (who turn 40 on the same day) are throwing ourselves a bash!!!!!.  Our original thought was to rent our friend's mortuary as a venue but then decided that was in poor taste.  Instead, we are taking our adult friends Roller Skating complete with the limbo, hokey pokey, and 80's tunes up the wazzoo.
You're invited.  Hope you can come. :)
