Cursed by the Remodel Gods

Do ya ever feel just a little cursed? Like there is some cosmic thing out there that just does not want you to finish a project or get something done? This is just so in the case of my remodel. The first incident happened months ago. Having ordered tile from the sample in the showroom, our tilesetter laid down what was delivered by the tile company. I took children to school, etc, etc. and when I came back, was shocked to see that the tile was nothing like we ordered. Long story short the beautiful-but-matching-nothing tile was removed, new tile paid for (by US) and the result is perfect we love it. But lots of frustration, especially at the tile company for sending us a completely different tile than we ordered, and then not standing behind their mistake.
Today, while the hardwood floor layers (we finally have given up on trade boy and are just paying people to do these last little jobs. It's almost not worth their time to come in to finish it all up, but a job's a job, I guess.) were laying the floor, they noticed that 7 of the 25 boxes were the wrong color. Luckily, this time the worker-guys (Nate's name for all the new friends he's been making this year) noticed a problem, and went to bat with the supplier. So half our hardwood is laid. YEA. Glass half full, room half done, glass half full (my remodel mantra)
Anyway, last straw: Rob was installing bathroom lights and is missing 2 Essential parts sets. We've looked everywhere. IT'll take at least a couple of weeks to get in these screws. Lights half done, glass half full.
Cursed, I tell you. Cursed!

We have never done a full remodel, but there always seems to be a steady stream of repairs or improvements.
